Kamery turned 17 on April 27th. We got up very eary, about 6:30 A.M., so Kam could open her presents before church at 8:30. We had the living room decorated with crete paper and balloons. Kamery enjoyed opening her gifts which gave her a head to toe outfit with perfumes, body glitter, and accessories. After she opened presents the kids played around with the balloons. Kysee threw one up in the air and hit at it. As she swatted at the balloon her hand came around and her fingernail caught Callista right in the eye. After much crying and upset we finally left church early to take Callista to the emergency room. She wanted Kamery to come with her and sit by her in the car. It turned out that she had a large tear in her lens which can be quite painful, but thankfully heals quickly. She has to be put on painkillers and have steroid/antibiotic drops for a few days as well as wear an eye patch due to sensitivity to light and air. We called her our little pirate! We were able to come home and after a nice Sunday nap, we resumed our birthday celebrations. Kamery had requested Navajo Tacos for her birthday dinner and strawberry cake with ice cream for her dessert. So that is what we did. David, Connie, Brenda, Larissa, Jay Dee, and Dad all came over and ate with us. Connie and David brougt Kamery a nice card with twenty dollars. We had a lot of fun cooking and visiting together. All of the extended family are coming up this weekend to see Kam and Jace in the play, so we are going to have another big birthday dinner on Sunday with all of them. I think it will be fun! Anyway, we are happy that Kamery is part of our family. She has been a great joy in our lives! What a special, talented, spirit she is!
